NYC’s first full casino floor is now open at Resorts World

New York City has officially crossed a major gambling milestone: Resorts World New York City in Queens has launched live table games, making it the city’s first full-fledged casino floor.

The property, which had operated as a slot-focused venue for years, now offers more than 200 live dealer tables alongside its existing slot lineup. The opening took place on April 28, 2026, next to Aqueduct Racetrack and near JFK Airport.

1200+ new Jobs

The debut is more than a ribbon-cutting moment. Resorts World’s expansion brought a large hiring push, with about 1,250 new jobs tied to the project, including roughly 950 dealer roles.

The launch event also drew local officials and rapper Nas, underlining just how big a deal this opening is for Queens and for New York’s gaming market.

On the gaming floor, players can now find the classics: blackjack, craps, baccarat, and roulette. And this is only the first phase of a much larger plan.

Resorts World’s wider vision includes a multibillion-dollar investment, a hotel, restaurants, and a large entertainment venue, with future additions still on the table.

Resorts World Finishes in 1st Place

Why it matters is simple: New York City has spent years waiting for a true live-table casino, and Resorts World just beat everyone else to the finish line.

That puts the Queens property in a strong early position while other downstate casino projects continue working toward their own opening timelines.

And here is the twist: if you are not in New York, the good news is you do not have to miss out on the action.

Online casinos bring the same energy to your screen, with far more flexibility and far fewer travel plans.
