Stationary or long term therapy?

Hi everyone, i am a long term gambler myself, so i know the struggle, but hear me out, i never had any problems with my gambling behaviour, so i am no help at all to be honest. My friend got addicted to gambling, lost many things and colleagues due to it, currently researches therapy options (her spouse is really helpful in reaching out for help and actually gave her an ultimatum). Anyone any advice on what to do? Which option is the best? is it enough to get some therapy sessions with a psychiatrist, or stationary therapy or even long term therapy elsewhere? Your advice is really appreciated here, thank you.

If someone steps over the edge, they fall. It’s inevitable. Sorry, but you rfriend has to quit. Gambling is fine when you have it under control. If you don’t it controls you.
